I am an ATI kid. For years, I thought that I had gotten a superior education through Bill Gothard’s Advanced Training Institute (ATI) homeschool program. I thought that I had learned a better way of life. To be honest, I thought I was superior to a lot of people.
Then my dad found Recovering Grace, a little over a year ago. Recovering Grace started uncloaking the hidden sin, scandal and false teaching that had been hiding at IBLP for years. God opened my eyes to the truth and began working in my life.
Dad has compiled a long list of the false teachings, lies, fraud and immorality that Bill Gothard is guilty of. I highly recommend that you read it. Prepare to be disgusted at the level of this man’s depravity. Then ask God what He would have you do about it. If you have been influenced in any way at all with IBLP–even if it was just a Basic Seminar 40 years ago–ask Him to cleanse you of all evil influences in your thinking and mindset, and to show you any area in which you are deceived.
“Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, and not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.” (Colossians 2:18-19)
